Joining forces for the first time, DMAs Edible Painter of the Year 2023 Emily Hankins joins DMAs Sugar Floral Artist of the Year 2024 Arati Mirji to bring you this incredible two day, in-person masterclass!
Spend a full day with Emily learning how to paint gorgeous tropical flowers and birds. Using Squires Kitchen's cocoa butter and dusts, Emily will teach you how to get to grips with cocoa butter paint, how to create an array of beautiful tropical flowers / foliage, how to paint gorgeous tropical birds and how to paint on acrylic tiers and separators. You will look at how to apply the paint to get the best coverage and how to layer up your colours and shading to create a design that comes to life! You do not have to be a proficient artist to take this course – Emily will work with you in easy to follow steps to give you the confidence to let your creativity flow!
You will also get to spend another fulll day with sugar flower sensation Arati Mirji, who will be joining us all the way from India. Arati will show you how to create a selection of stunning, botanically correct tropical flowers using her very own florist paste. Arati will share all her tips and techniques with you to enable you to, not only make the flowers and foliage included in the curriculum, but also to transfer the knowledge successfully in making other flowers. Arati will teach detailed techniques to colour and dust the flowers and foliage in order to add depth and realism and will also be teaching how to achieve different textures and movement to ensure they look as natural and realistic as possible. Again the process will be broken into very simplified steps and techniques, which will enable even a beginner to be successful in making the flowers and foliage.
At the end of the two days you will put together your sugar flower and painted works along with your clear acrylic tier from Prop Options which is yours to keep forever! Your finished cake will be a three tier showstopping masterpiece and will be perfect for that cake showroom, wedding consultations or wedding shows!
This amazing TWO DAY masterclass will be held on 13th and 14th February 2025 at Holiday Inn, Wrotham, Kent, UK. Included in the cost of the masterclass is expert tuition from these internationally recognised artists, two full days learning, all equipment and materials, tea / coffee / water, lunch, notepads and pens for note-taking. Class numbers will be limited to 12.

The classes will run on the 13th and 14th February 2025 from 9am until 6pm. The classes may overrun due to the nature of the lesson. If for any reason we have to cancel the class, you will be refunded any paid class fees in full. This will not include any accommodation, travel or childcare arrangements that have been made by the attendee so please be aware of this when booking accommodation / travel.
